Here lies a young man honest and upright who feared God,
our teacher the rabbi Simcha Asher son of our teacher and rabbi
Shemuel Zanvil HaLevi of blessed memory, he will rest peacefully in his
grave because of his honesty and his good qualities, his
gaiety and light, his soul will find rest in the heavens,
his good name and his good deeds will be remembered there
and he will be rewarded to protect those he left behind,
died 17 Mar Heshvan in the year 5648[4 November 1887]
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
