A menorah marks the grave of a righteous woman. A hand inserting a coin into a collection tin (at the bottom of the stone) symbolizes the charitableness of the deceased Haya [Chaya] Riwka Felerman from Mielec [Melitz in Yiddish]. Here lies a woman honest and modest, followed the righteous women’s path, has done her husband’s will, extended her hand to the poor and stretched out her hands to the needy, Mrs. Haya Riwka daughter of Avraham, died at the age of sixty years on ? Second Adar 5689 [March/April 1929] May her soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life Translated by Sara Mages (smages@comcast.net)
