"Here lies a memorial, a grave of an old and modest woman, proper among women, and God-fearing, from her bread she gave to the poor and she gathered travelers to her house; our precious mother, the married Channah Sarah, daughter of Reb Pinhas Leib of blessed memory. She died in a good name,13th Kislev year 5697 as the abbreviated era. May her soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life." Translated by Heidi M. Szpek, Ph.D. (szpekh@cwu.edu), Assistant Professor of Religious Studies, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Central Washington University, Ellensburg, WA 98926.
