"In this place is the tombstone of holy sages May their merits protect us.
Contributions were given to the priests for their Midsrash [studies]. The genius, our teacher and rabbi, Issachar Ber son of the rabbi our teacher and rabbi Rabbi Naftali Katz [a righteous Cohen] and the Gaon [genius] from Janow.
And near this tree, according to tradition, is the gravestone of the genius, the great light of the Diaspora, his name is HaRav Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Rapaport Rapoport
who was the president of the rabbinical court of the community of Lublin, son of the genius our teacher and rabbi Nachman Cohen. Died in the middle of the gourney when he traveled to the city of Lublin on 7 Av in the year 5478
[4 August 1718]
The fence around the gravestone was repaired by his granddaughter Riwka Dwora Friedman daughter of the great rabbi, our teacher and rabbi Moshe Tzvi Arye son of the great rabbi our teacher and rabbi Yehiel Michel of blessed memory Bik".
