A tombstone……..a loyal source from a valuable ancestry,
a beloved righteous man, born to a prominent family whose
great virtues were recognized by the gates, there he rose to the
greatness of his ancestors and to the legacy of all of his good deeds.
Surely he is our teacher the rabbi Meir Shemuel son of
our teacher the rabbi Tzvi [Zvi,Zwi,Cwi] HaCohen of blessed
memory, and he is the brother the genius rabbi Rabbi Asher HaCohen
from Surochów, died on the last day of Passover 5642
[22 Nisan – 11 April 1882] by the abbreviated era
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
