that our eyes darkened…our beloved father who
was loved by people during his days,
stood with the true righteous and studied under them,
was engaged in the Torah and in work and sought
righteousness, died with a good reputation, our
teacher Eliezer Issachar Dow [Dov] son of our teacher
Moshe of blessed memory died 21 Shevat in the year 5677
[13 February 1917] by the abbreviated era
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
