Yosef of blessed memory son of our teacher Shelomo Nehemiah
died 11 Nisan 5661 [31 March 1901] by the abbreviated era
We suffered a great loss when he died,
his parents are mourning his death,
the day the sound of his life turned,
those who know of his praise lament him,
his tombstone will be a memorial for all,
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
