Reb Berl Wajs/W...		Woe for those who are gone and cannot be replaced! Reb Eliyahu Joel [Yoel] son of Reb Yehoshua Natan of blessed memory Garfinkel, Born in Szczuczyn [Shtutzin in Yiddish]. Died on the first day of the month of Av in the year of troubles = 5696 [20 July 1936] [The letters of the Jewish year תרצו were rearranged to create the word troubles]. The epitaph is an acrostic poem spelling the name of the deceased Eliyahu Joel. Where is the Hassid, where is the humble man, his sons will mourn his death, was upright and honest all of his days, was charitable to his people, studied the Torah day and night, traded with trust, the community mourn him heavily, rose like a lion to worship God.
